Jaira Burns- "Burn Slow"

Jaira Burns- "Burn Slow"

"Burn Slow" opted to stray away from the signature traits of reggae and portrayed a more pop feel, incorporating a lot of electronic harmonies with a slow and heavy tempo. Her vocals resonate in the same manner as her previous track, but her accent is noticeably different- which is a great quality to have in that gives her listeners a wide variety in style. We love Jaira Burns and hope to see a video for "Burn Slow" in the near future!

Alex Mali is a singer- songwriter based out of Brooklyn, NY. Her music falls under the hip-hop/ rnb category, and she can pretty much do everything from rapping to belting out her influential lyrics with a ridiculous vocal range. K. Flay- "Make Me Fade"

K. Flay- "Make Me Fade"

"Make Me Fade" is the song of hers that we heard first, and it is still our favorite to this day. As we stated, we just love the uniqueness of her voice and the way she talks from the heart. K. Flay likes to stray away from metaphors and tells stories in her songs, which a tricky business that proves to be incredibly beneficial if done right. The 32-year-old has at least 11 projects worth of mixtapes, albums and EPs- so if you end up liking her, you've got a lot of catching up to do!

Leikeli47- "Money"

"Money" is a single that was released by the singer in 2016 where she talks of working her way to the top and changing as her music career progresses. Her voice is clean and smooth, and her articulation is really creative and on point. The beat is simple, but that's okay because it creates a certain vibe and gives Lekeli47 room to play around with melodies- and she definitely does.

Camille Elaine- "If You'd Like"

"If You'd Like" is undoubtedly about her move from her hometown, and the singer expresses feelings of sadness upon having to leave her loved ones and wishes them nothing but the best in their future endeavors. Her delicate and high-pitched voice is addicting, and although this song is a little bit older, we think it is one of her best. Camille is currently working on new music and perfecting her craft while putting herself through school at the University of Texas, pursuing a career in advertising. You go, girl!

Bateau- "Feel Me"

Bateau is a 24-year-old singer- songwriter from Texas. Though she doesn't have much out, we did end up stumbling across her melodic track "Feel Me".  She talks of ruining her reputation, missing her former lover who is currently living it up without her and succumbing to alcohol addiction-but somehow does a brilliant job of making it seem not as depressing and dark as it actually is.

Anna Renee- "What You Seek"

Anna Renee- "What You Seek"

"What You Seek" is a single that explores aspects often forgotten in the mainstream pop industry. The track starts of with Anna singing in a lower vocal range, and when the chorus hits her vocals kick up to a high falsetto, creating a really interesting dynamic that kept us listening the whole way through. The overall feel is dreamy, melodic and well put together. It's obvious she put a lot of time and effort into this particular track, and her producer Daniel Rojas was spot on as well. We can already tell that this is going to be one of those timeless songs that we keep coming back to for years to come, and it is probably never going to stop sounding just as great as the first listen.

Grace Robinson- "If Only You Knew"

Grace Robinson- "If Only You Knew"

The below track "If Only You Knew" is an early teaser from Robinson's upcoming album With Fire (August 2017). A newer and re-vamped version of "If You Only Knew" was recorded in Portland, Oregon last year along with the other 6 songs for the album, and will be the final version you'll hear on August 3. But until then, you'll have to trust this sneak-peak for a glimpse of great things to come. The track is sultry and jazzy, and her voice is ridiculously strong for someone her age- depicting maturity beyond her 16 years. We definitely can't wait to hear future work from this young Aussie!

Westbrook- "Pink Cyclamen"

"Pink Cyclamen" is a haunting and indie-folk track that is simple and catchy. Rachael's voice is unique and the lyrics are incredibly descriptive, at one point mentioning Chemist Warehouse in Melbourne (which could be considered the U.S equivalent of CVS) and how much her purchase came to. We absolutely love this organic and genuine style of writing because it always proves to be an interesting listen. Check it out!

Grace VanderWaal- "Moonlight"

Grace VanderWaal shot to fame when she performed her song "I Don't Know My Name" on the X Factor. She completely blew everyone away when she finished, receiving a standing ovation and golden buzzer from the judges. What's even more impressive about Grace is that she is only 13 years old and writes all of her own music. Some people are just born with unmatchable talent, Miss VanderWaal being one of them.

The Honey Trees- "To Be With You"

"To Be With You" is an older track but we feel that is still hasn't received as much recognition as it should. The Honey Trees released the single in 2010, but it is definitely one of those timeless songs that will never stop being good. The band is unfortunately on a permanent hiatus but that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the gift they gave us when they decided to bring these beautiful works of art to life.

Say Girl Say is a multi-instrumental female duo from Texas (shout out to Texas!). Members Brigette Yawn and Suzan Zaghmouth are known for their intertwining, haunting harmonies that will break your heart and leave you wanting more. We saw Say Girl Say perform a set at Whateverfest in Houston a year or two ago, and they were definitely one of our favorite performances. Their set up is so simple with just a drum, ukulele and guitar- putting most of the focus on their voices and breath- taking harmonies.
